The American Poetess *In-Person* *NEW*
From Anne Bradstreet to Amanda Gorman, women have been shaping and responding to the United States through poetry for centuries. In this course, we will read poetry by women from the 18th to the 21st century. Each week, we will focus on a collection (packets provided by the instructor) centered around a theme. Examples include 'Creating America,' 'Landscapes,' 'Imagined Futures,' 'War Poetry,' and 'Family, Community.' Together, we will partake in the pleasure of poetry, while examining the historical and social contexts these women were writing about.
