Beowulf and Rostam: What Epic Poetry Can Tell Us About Medieval Society *In-Person* *NEW*
Epic poetry was a way that medieval people told stories of their own people. But what do these stories tell us about the people who wrote them? Can the stories of Beowulf and the Gododdin teach us about the British Dark Ages? How much does Prince Rostam tell us about the Persian kings of the medieval world? In this five-week course, we will look at societies around the world from 500 C.E. to 1500 C.E.
