Russian: Beginner Level 2 *In-Person*
Beginner Level 2 is for students who have at least 14 hours of classroom time in Russian within the last year, can sound out Russian words written in Cyrillic script, can ask and answer simple questions in areas of immediate need in Russian, and can use simple phrases and sentences to describe where they live and the people they know. Students should have basic knowledge of all the cases of nouns, present, past and future tenses. Students at this level will continue to identify common words concerning their immediate concrete surroundings, read simple sentences, and practice their speaking skill with topics related to everyday life. Katya Maher holds an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from UMass-Boston. She is a native speaker of Russian and has over 10 years of experience teaching Russian and EFL/ESL in Russia and in the U.S. She has been teaching at the CCAE since 2004.
