Founded in 1973, the award-winning Blacksmith House Poetry Series brings established and emerging writers of poetry and fiction to Harvard Square. In person readings will take place at 56 Brattle on Mondays at 8pm. Admission is $5, tickets are available at the door.

Spencer Reece

Spencer Reece, an Episcopal priest, canon and rector of St. Paul’s, Wickford, Rhode Island, is the author of three books of poetry — The Clerk’s Tale, The Road to Emmaus and Acts. Other books include The Secret Gospel of Mark: A Poet’s Memoir, and a collection of his watercolors, All The Beauty Still Left: A Poet’s Painted Book of Hours.


Pablo Medina

Pablo Medina is the author of 21 books, most recently the poetry collection Sea of Broken Mirrors and the novel The Cuban Comedy. His translations include García Lorca's Poet in New York (with Mark Statman) and Alejo Carpentier's seminal novel The Kingdom of This World. His awards include fellowships from the Rockefeller Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Guggenheim Foundation, He is professor emeritus from Emerson College and is on faculty at the Warren Wilson MFA Program for Writers.
