Making Jewelry Settings for Fused Glass Cabochons or Found Objects *In-Person* *NEW*
In this workshop, students will learn metalsmithing techniques including measurement, cutting, forming, filing and soldering, to create a unique large-format prong setting and bezel setting in sterling silver for their favorite fused glass cabochons or found objects. Many different soldering applications will be covered. All materials will be provided, including sterling silver sheet, wire & bezel, saw blades, solder, sandpaper & more. A $50 materials fee is paid to the instructor on the day of class. Instructor: Laurie Savage

Laurie Savage
Laurie Savage received a BFA in metalsmithing from MassArt in 1998. She has taught the jewelry program at CCAE since 1999 and metalsmithing workshops at the DeCordova Museum School since 2005. Her work is included in numerous private collections nationally and internationally, and is available by commission. She maintains a studio in the Distillery Building in South Boston.
