Fanny Howe, author of Night Philosophy and a reader from the first Blacksmith House reading in 1973, will be joined by Haleh Liza Gafori, whose most recent translation of Rumi is Water.

Founded in 1973, the award-winning Blacksmith House Poetry Series brings established and emerging writers of poetry and fiction to Harvard Square. In person readings will take place at 56 Brattle on Mondays at 8pm. Admission is $5, tickets are available at the door.

Haleh Liza Gafori

Haleh Liza Gafori is a translator, performance artist, poet, and musician. She is the author of Gold, translations of poems by the 13th century mystic and sage Rumi, as well as a second volume of translations, Water, coming out in the spring of 2025.

Fanny Howe

Fanny Howe is the author of more than 20 books, including Night Philosophy. She read with Bill Corbett at the first Blacksmith House Poetry Series reading back in 1973.
